I've made a simple plugin that can be used to right arrow into
1Password, it then gives you a list of all your logins and lets you
'go & fill'.
Now this is VERY primitive, and there may be some glitches, but I
thought I'd let the keen readers of the group know first before I
properly 'release' it, so you guys can test.
This only works with 1Password 3 & OSX 10.5 (1Password 3 is 10.5+
anyway)
Let me know what you think :)
There might be a few more things I'd like to add: copy password to
clipboard (useful for terminal) - (need the 1Pwd password, so may be
difficult)
Open webform in 1Password (difficult)
Edit webform (difficult)
Git info on the other things like accounts, identities etc. (not that
hard, but figuring out how QS lets you right arrow is bloody
difficult!)

P.S. documentation is limited atm, :( I know
The source will be up soon as, well when I've tidied it up etc.

I look forward to a day when “properly releasing” and simply announcing things on this list are two different events. :) I mean, really, what else can you do right now?
> (not that hard, but figuring out how QS lets you right arrow is bloody difficult!)
For sure, but actually doing it isn’t that bad once you’ve figured it out. I had to push the right arrow to its limits for the Yojimbo plug-in. I updated the plug-in reference as I went, so there should be some helpful information. And the source for the Yojimbo plug-in (in my fork) might help. Feel free to contact me off-list if you need help.
One thing that may be relevant… I was testing the Yojimbo plug-in with ß57 today and it wouldn’t let me arrow into the app. Have you tried with ß54?

Don't try to tell me a thing is important to you if the whole of your “support” entails forcing others to spend time and money on it.
I immediately jumped on the chance to give this a run for it's money,
but it doesn't seem to work for me.
I have downloaded the plugin, and confirmed that it is installed by
finding it checked in the plug-ins section. I have also tried
restarting both qs and 1password, and refreshing the catalog. I have
not tried rebooting the mac, though that shouldn't be necessary :)
I search for 1password, but cannot right arrow into it. I also can't
find the "Web Forms" source under catalog preferences.
I am running quicksilver v B57 (3840), 1password v 3.0.2 (build 30419)
and OS X 10.6.2.
I checked the console, and these errors pop up each time I try to
right arrow into 1password:
20/01/2010 20:08:05 Quicksilver[37692] Failed loading bundle NSBundle
</Users/xxx/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/PlugIns/
OnePassword.qsplugin> (not yet loaded)
Thanks for creating the plugin though! I had not even thought it
possible, but could make a huge difference to my web browsing!
If 1P is selected in the first pane, I can option-right arrow into the
contents of 1Password, but I don't think that's what you mean either.
Thanks for your help!

Right arrow into 1password should, like mail, give you access to
application specific entries. In mail's case it's the inbox, while for
the 1password module it's the passwords you have stored in it. By
using the checkbox I mentioned earlier, you get direct access to these
items from the quicksilver "main" search, rather then having to right
arrow into 1password.
Patrick had made a mistake when compiling the plugin he originally
posted here, but emailed me a "fixed" version. Not sure if he has
updated the link above… Might explain why it's working for so few. Do
you get any errors in the osx console when you try to right arrow into
the 1password entry (just run the console application, and check the
"console messages" log)?

Right arrowing means in 1Password is like what you can do to iTunes,
Mail, Address book and lots of other plugins.
You search for the application '1Password' and press either the slash
'/' key or the 'right arrow → or -> key and you 'drill down' into the
application.
Now it should show the files inside 1Password, but your web login
forms.
You can read more about it in Howard's manual - Pg 13 'Selecting
Items' and I'm sure you could learn more if you read his sections on
the Mail, iTunes or Address Book Plugins.
The 1Password module in the original link (namely: github.com/
pjrobertson/blacktree-elements/downloads )
IS the latest version, and should hopefully work for everyone.
** Remembering your prefs in the modules prefs pane is now fixed -
thanks Camelot :) **
** Also - is 'Assign Abbreviation' or clicking the little circle next
to the web form and using 'make default for xxx' working for everyone?
I haven't tested it enough, and I've had the problem with the other
'new' module Remote Hosts, but the first time you install the plugin
it sometimes doesn't work.
Try re-downloading it and double click it so you get the message
'Install Complete, some plugins may not be....' asking you to relaunch
Quicksilver.
This often fixes the problem.
I did say that you lot at the groups would be my bleeding edge guinea
pigs, so I'm sorry if it's been a bumpy ride so far :(
Hopefully we'll get there :)
the 6th or so line should read:
Now it should NOT show the files inside 1Password, but your web login
forms.
Here's the download link clickable:

The latest version will always be put there.
Unfortunately not, it'll only work with whatever browsers 1Password
supports (You can see in the 1Password preferences which ones these
are)
As soon as there's support for Chrome, this plugin will work
automatically :)
> And talking of Chrome are there any plans for a Chrome plugin? (Sorry to wander
> off topic).
Don't know of anybody doing this. Seeing as I don't really use Chrome
I have no real incentive to make one either :(
I guess if you ask some nice developer with free time (if they exist!)
they might :D
It's enabled by default, yes. You can disable it by unticking it
though.
If under the catalog prefs, you have BOTH checkboxes ticked under
1Password, then you'll be able to search for the web forms directly in
the first pane with having to search for 1Password first.
> I wonder if there are other modules that use the right-arrow functionality?
Address Book
iTunes
Keychain Access
Yojimbo
iChat
iPhoto
Safari
…and the list goes on.
Can you right arrow into any of those (for which you have the relevant module installed)?
For what it’s worth, I ran ß57 briefly when I was updating the Yojimbo module to see if it would work, and I couldn’t right arrow into it either. I believe clearing out the two Quicksilver folders in `~/Library/Caches/` got it working. Might be worth a try. (I usually drag them to the trash, rather than deleting them in case I want to copy them back.)
The plugin installs properly and asks me to relaunch QS. I've
confirmed everything from 1Passwords end you mention above.
~/Library/Application Support/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain
The console had the following message
24/01/2010 19:38:53 Quicksilver[6821] An error ocurred while scanning
"User Accounts": launch path not accessible
I checked the permissions for the keychain and have read/write
privileges.

While working on the Yojimbo Module some more, I’ve noticed that things don’t always work as expected (with right arrowing in particular) when you install a new version of the plug-in. This seems to fix it every time:
1. Install the new version of the plug-in
2. Relaunch Quicksilver
3. Rescan the catalog entries for the plug-in
4. Relaunch Quicksilver again

The magnitude of a problem does not affect its ownership.
I'm SURE it doesn't have anything to do with your plugin. I'm simply
not able to use right-arrow OR slash into ANYTHING. I always get the
headshake. I can hold down the option key, and then right-arrow (or
slash) and it takes me to the application contents. Looks like some of
us will just have to wait until they get a new version of QS out that
fixes the issue. I appreciate all the work and support you've given us
here.

After rescanning and restarting QS it was registered in the catalogue
again, both boxes checked.
I clearing the caches repairing the permissions and booting into safe
mode before trying to drill down into 1Password.
And still the same result, same console message.
Might it be worth my trying to move all the QS files (the Application
Support, Cache and Preferences is all I believe?) to a different
location and set QS up from scratch to see if that works?
Is the plugin working for anyone using b54 under SL? I'm swapping
54/57 and their respective bezelHUD interfaces each time I try
anything but it'd be nice not to have too. (I have tried it with the
default interface by the way in case that was affecting it).
And I echo Dons appreciation of course.

Yes, I DO get the little arrow, Patrick, but can't seem to implement
it. I've tried mouse clicking on with all the modifiers. The only way
I can get either right-arrow or slash to do anything at all is to hold
down the option key and then I get sent to the app contents. Thanks
for the link for bug reports. Maybe I'll give that a shot.
The only other thing I know to try is to go back to ß54 and see if
things are different. But according to what I read here, that ain't
gonna cut it either.

There's a link to the version that works on β57 on that page. The
plugin for one causes the other to crash. But it doesn't seem to be
implicated in this case from what I can tell.

I've just added the source to Github which means anybody can have a
look. More importantly it means you can report bugs if you've found
any, get the latest downloads, and donate towards this plugin if
you've thought it was useful.
The latest version on Github has an 'Open in 1Password' action. :)
