Removing duplicate entires from Recent Objects

How can I use the 'Recent Objects' source without introducing duplicate entries into the global catalog?
Recent Objects is useful when referring back to a folder you have drilled into within QS. The side effect is the 'other matches' dialog box is spammed of duplicate items.
It is useless to disable scanned objects manually since it is a 'dynamic' catalog, and will empty and repopulate itself after every restart.
