Available Hotkey Combinations for Triggers

I am new to QS and want to create hotkey triggers to open and switch
to my frequently used applications. I have been able to do this in
some cases but have had problems finding hotkey combinations that are
not already taken either by the OS or by applications. Many of the
hotkey combinations I have tried won't work.

Is there a guide anywhere to unused hotkey combinations or general
advice on which combinations to try or avoid.

A good workaround might be to disable the hotkey combos that you
aren't likely to use via System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard
Shortcuts. There, you can check and uncheck those you don't want or
need. This would be a good place to start, as it would free up some of
those potentially less-than-useful system Keyboard Shortcuts.
