The Sample Image Pack - Suggestions

SUGGESTIONS for using the sample images on Windows with MS Word...
The sample images pack includes a GIF image for use in e-mail and web
applications, a color BMP, TIFF and JPEG for color print applications,

Why do the graphics have an ART extension after I download them?
We asked AOL for help with this problem experienced by some AOL users.
Here is their answer:
"If you are trying to save a GIF or JPG file, but it is saving as an
ART file it means your browser is set to use compressed graphics.

The CD ROM & Mac Computers

I have a Mac, can I use the Bitsela CD-ROM?
Our CD "Images for Building Jewish Web Sites" is not compatible with
all Mac operating systems and configurations and Bitsela Artz has not
tested the CD in a Mac environment. However, we have been told by some
of our users that they are able to use the CD with their Macs.

TIFF colors don't display correctly

Bitsela's color TIFF images are saved as CMYK color. Personal Computer
screens display only three colors (red-green-blue) and can't display
CMYK color. If you have a photo-quality color printer, you may find
that the TIFF image prints the best quality color. If not, use the BMP

Resizing Images

It is important when resizing the images to keep the same aspect ratio.
In other words, an image that is 200 x 100 can be resized to 100 x 50
(50% ratio on both sides) without distorting the image, but try to
resize to 100 x 80 and the image will be distorted and may be
"bitmappy" or have rough edges when printed.
