Subject: OpenBits is now Bitpedia; Creative Commons licensing; bitpedia-l discussion list
As you may have noticed on the Bitzi website, the community-built,
freely available metadata compilation formerly known as the "OpenBits
Catalog" has been renamed "Bitpedia, the Digital Media Encyclopedia".
We hope this name will better communicate the mission and scope of the
project. See:

     http://bitpedia.org
and http://bitzi.com/bitpedia

Retiring along with the OpenBits name is the OpenBits license. From
now on, Bitzi/Bitpedia metadata will be published under the Creative
Commons Attribution-Share Alike License, version 2.0. See:

     http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/

Launching as a new forum for discussion of the Bitpedia project,
publication, and technology is the 'bitpedia-l' discussion list,
hosted via the Google Groups service. Participants can subscribe
as an email list, or use the threaded bulletin-board style web
interface. For more info, or to subscribe, visit:

     http://bitzi.com/bitpedia/bitpedia-l

What's next for Bitpedia? What *should* be next? Join the bitpedia-l
list to be a part of the discussion!
