I'll just throw in a couple observations.
HTML 5 video players still require that you encode your video in at
least 2 formats. This is not necessarily a problem, just a nuisance.
ToolBook exports for any browser except IE will likely work with an HTML
5 video player. IE8 will never work with an HTML 5 video player as it
doesn't support the latest HTML 5 and canvas. IE9 and IE10 both are
limited in providing HTML 5 video player support via ToolBook because
ToolBook exports are NOT HTML 5 compatible (they run in compatibility
mode). The JavaScript can make them HTML 5 compatible and thus support
HTML 5 video players except that there is at least one catalog object
that the PowerPac is unable to account for (maybe others but I'm unaware
of them at this time).
The PowerPac will probably provide HTML 5 video support in the near
future even if ToolBook doesn't provide the support. Since there are
several open source HTML 5 video players available, I would be
interested to know which one(s) ToolBookers may like to recommend. When
all is said and done, the one we choose to implement may be determined
by licensing and by its ability to interface with ToolBook to provide
bi-directional communication like we provide in all our PowerPac functions.
