Web content not working in IE 10.0

Always perplexes me when the same content works in one version of IE (8)
but not another (10 on a Win 8 machine). It does beg the question "why"?
Of course, I don't have the slightest idea ... thus the post.
In IE 10 the content loads but any attempt to navigate beyond the first
page generates a "Message from webpage" to the effect "the following error
has occurred: unable to get property 'item' of undefined or null reference
(line number 609).
As always ... any thoughts would be appreciated.
