I'm a bit late to this thread but...
One of the third-party LMSs that I am trialling will only permit the use
of the mpeg 4 format. In fact, the upload instructions advise that all
video formats will be converted to mpeg 4 during the process. I don't
know if that is the standard for other LMSs but if LMS deployment is a
key issue, it would seem that in some cases at least, everything else is
academic.
