Version 9+ for dhtml

Someone has created a dll which I would like to access in Toolbook. When I try to load it Toolbook states that it is not a valid extension.

The developer has said "If I were trying to switch this with powerpoint for example, I would be using the vb scripting functionality to call the dll and send it the appropriate commands.

There are some very straightforward instructions on how to do this in the manual I supplied along with forms and other scripting examples.

I suggest the way forward is for you find out how to initiate the scripting functionality in toolbook and copy what I have sent, which already works.".

If I could load the extension then I would use the action editor to access the dll.

Can Toolbook do the necessary scripting, alternatively what needs to be done to the dll to make it a valid extension?

All the best

Hello,

I am afraid DLL cannot be used on DHTML.
There is no way to transport DLL to user's PC for security reason.
And there is no DLL support for work with DLL in internet browser.

If DLL is valid ActiveX component, you can use it, but every user has to
agree with installation.

Hi Knapek
Security is not an issue. The problem is how do I turn the dll into a control that can be seen by Toolbook? I have asked the developer to give me more details.

If it is ActiveX, you should to load it as extension in File menu.
