Hi I searched the archives and don't see anything
about this.

Is it true that Robo may go away? A top person left
and started his own co. or product? If so, do any of
you have suggestions to the best alternative - ?
Robo is a great product but has its limitations and
my users have been askign me if there is something
else better. To my knowledge they were the industry
standard and had bought Forehelp etc., but then I
started hearing they were not supporting it and it
was going away - something like that.
If anyone knows can you post?

Thanks

Araceli

Given the above alone, how's it look to you?

I just checked out the Madcap website... all it says is that Flare will be
ready "later this year". Does anyone have more substantial information on
REAL availability date?

Many thanks to all who replied. You have provided me
with a plethora of information - sufficient to present
to my bosses.

Thanks again

My guess is that Robo is going to start down the same path as
FrameMaker: owned by a company that is milking it for whatever
$ it can still bring in while investing little or nothing in its upkeep
or improvement because everyone who truly understood its
underpinnings has either left or been drummed out of the firm.
As with FM, if I were an existing Robo user I wouldn't go into a
frenzied search for a new tool, but I sure as hell wouldn't start
using it if I weren't already.

I would think Madcap would be the authority on the availability of
their products. ;-)

FWIW, ForeHelp technology was assumed by Component One, and
they are alive and well (and likely a good alternative if you are
looking to move away from RH).
