Some time ago there was a talk on Hull's The Sheikh and I was asked to
post a list of romances dealing with the same story. Here is a preliminary
list with 16 titles:
1. Cartland, Barbara, Passions in the Sand, Bantam, 1976
2. Cartland, Barbara, The Kiss of the Devil, 1979
3.Darcy, Emma, The Sheikh's Revenge, Harlequin, 1993
4. Hilliard, Narina, The Land of the Sun, Harlequin, 1976
5. Hilton, Margery, The House of the Amulet, Harlequin, 1970
6. Hull, Edith M., The Sheikh, 1919
7. Hull, Edith M., The Sons of the Sheikhs, 1921
8. Lamb, Charlotte, Desert Barbarian, Harlequin, 1978
9. Lindsey, Johanna, Captive Bride, Avon, 1977
10. Lyons, Mary, Desire in the Desert, Harlequin, 1984
11. Mather, Ann, Dark Enemy, Harlequin, 1972
12. Neri, Penelope, Desert Captive, Zebra, 1988
13. Rome, Margaret, The Bride of the Rif, Harlequin, 1972
14. Stratton, Rebecca, Close to the Heart, Harlequin, 1979
15. Winspear, Violet, The Palace of the Pomegranate, Harlequin, 1974
16. Winspear, Violet, The Burning Sands, Harlequin, 1977

According to Barbara Cartland, the story originates in the life of Lady
Jane Digby, granddaughter of the first Earl of Leicester, who married a
Sheikh in the XIXth Century, lived with him in the desert and was known
as Jane Digby El Mezrab. For her biography, see Lesley Blanch, The Wilder
Shores of Love, and E.M.Oddie, Portrait of Ianthe.

I'm actively looking for other romances with the same story, films, TV
programs, and other media. If you know of any, please send to Julia.
