The taxation thing was so great that the CNJ at one time set up
an entire separate railroad in an attempt to avoid NJ taxes on its
operations outside the state: the Central Railroad of Pennsylvania.
All assets in PA were transferred to the CRP; cars and engines were
lettered for it, etc. However, NJ went to Federal court and beat
the CNJ; the CRP was later absorbed back into the CNJ.
