A new Web service of information about publications and meetings in
the areas of petroleum and marine technology has just been launched at:

http://www.eevl.ac.uk/offshore/

This service is available by subscription (details at the Web site) and
is FREE to users from the UK academic community.

The service is part of EEVL (the Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library),
a Project to build a gateway for the higher education and research
community to engineering information on the Internet, and originates
from Heriot-Watt University.

These Offshore Engineering files contain regularly maintained
information about:

* Forthcoming Offshore and Petroleum Engineering Meetings
(from the current month up to 2001; the most comprehensive
industry calendar)

* Recent publications in Offshore and Petroleum Engineering.
(books, reports, conference proceedings, standards,
legislation etc)

* Cumulative Bibliography of Petroleum and Marine Technology
(details of over 2500 individual publications, the most up-to-
date and comprehensive listing available anywhere on these
subjects).

Almost 1 MB of files !

Keywords: oil and gas exploration and production, offshore structures
and pipelines, subsea systems, offshore health and safety, marine
environmental protection, underwater operations, diving and ROVs,
resources of the seabed and renewable energy, petroleum economics and
engineering.
