Colleagues:

For those of us wearing art librarian hats as well (and for that matter,
music scholars working in iconography and other art-related topics), here's
some great news (dated November 13) from JSTOR regarding the availability
of 7 core art journals as part of the Arts and Science III Collection (which
includes all the music titles):

----

Dear JSTOR Participant:

We are very excited to announce the addition of seven new journals to JSTOR
in two new disciplines: art & art history and architecture & architectural
history. Part of the Arts & Sciences III Collection, these journals add
approximately 234,000 pages to the archive as well as more than 100,000
color and grayscale images. To address the special needs of these
image-intensive journals and to ensure their faithful replication, JSTOR
developed a compositing technology to integrate the images with the journal
pages. As a result, images remain part of the journal page and appear in
the same context as in the print version. Users are also now able to search
specifically by captions.

The oldest of the seven titles, The Burlington Magazine, spans 100 years,
and each of these journals represents decades' worth of important
scholarship in the fields of art & art history and architecture &
architectural history. We hope researchers and students alike will welcome
their inclusion in JSTOR. The following titles have been added to the
already existing Arts & Sciences III Collection:

The Art Bulletin
Vol. 1, no. 1 - Vol. 81, no. 4
(1913 - December, 1999)
