Q: Does anybody have any idea about Western Carolina University's
MBA program?

A: Western Carolina University is located in North Carolina.  The
number of completed MBA applications is 116.  The number of
enrolled applicants for the first time is 52.  The acceptance ratio is
therefore 52/116 = 45%.  The percentage of students with a GMAT of
600+ is 2%.

For comparative purposes:
Wake Forest University is located in North Carolina.  The number of
completed MBA applications is 1,200.  The number of enrolled
applicants for the first time is 100.  The acceptance ratio is therefore
100/1,200 = 8%.  The percentage of students with a GMAT of 600+ is
33%.

Comparison indicates: Wake Forest University has greater
interest in its MBA program and greater selectivity in enrollment.

Hope that helps,

Subject: Final Notice

I am going to send my applications to some business schools just by
beating the datelines.

Some schools ask the applicants to include a copy of resume, the others
not. Should I include one copy of my resume to each school even if they
don't ask to do so?

A couple days ago I had an alumni interview with a graduate from a top
business school. During the interview he asked me what schools I had
applied for and which school I was interest in the most. I just told him
the truth. I felt he was a little bit disappointed about that I did not
specifically emphasize my interest in his school. But I still want to
send my application to the school.

Being a non-native English speaker, I have spend a huge amount of time to
write and rewrite my essays. I have many years of very good work
experience (I am a certified professional in the field I am working and
know three languages).I know that my writing is not too good but has
unique contents. I believe that some admissions committee members will not
judge one's essays solely by his/her style of writing. I just want to
present myself the person I am.

It may be better for me to apply for MBA schools next year, but I really
don't want to delay one more year. As the deadlines approaches, the
competition for admissions will be furious.

Before sending out my applications, I would like to hear some advice from
you.

Thank you.

Karl

Karl:

Would send resume if I were you - lots of info in quick and easy package.
Helps out the beleaguered souls who read applications.

My $.02 worth: don't deny applying to other schools in interviews, but don't
be lukewarm about interviewer's school. Why should they give spots to people
who don't seem enthusiastic? Basic self-marketing stuff.

Bye,
