TBOPEN issue with OPS/MVS for OPSBROWSE
|
| |
List I am having a problem with getting into OPSBROWSE under OPS/MVS. For some reason I have the message: Table in use TBOPEN issued for table OPBOPRTB that is in use, ENQUEUE failed. How do I fix this? Or find out where this enq is located? I have tried bouncing OPS/MVS... more »

RCF process?
|
| |
Hey Gil, Got your Contact z/OS form submission this time. I've passed it on to the HLASM team who will respond to you. I don't provide tracking numbers for the Contact z/OS form. I'm not technical support nor do I own the RCF process. If there's an easy way to add a time stamp to the Thank you page, I'll add... more »

Apostrophes
|
| |
...It's (contraction, not plural) an obsolete convention, still followed by many: [link] ... although some consider this old fashioned, illogical and unnecessary. MLA guidelines suggest that no apostrophe is needed following numbers (as when naming a decade).... more »

Apostrophes (was: Check out Computer glitch...)
|
| |
...... which your editor, too smart by half, converted to right-single-quotes, and which P S's viewer (along with one I tried) doesn't understand. ...As someone lately screamed on ISPF-L, "Leave my text alone unless I tell you to change it!" I wasn't the screamer, but I'll echo it. Know what happens when a busybody editor smart-quotes the apostrophes in a JCL... more »

RCF Process?
|
| |
A few weeks ago I tried to submit an RCF. I discover that the manuals now send me to a web for rather than supplying an email address. I filled out the form. I have gotten no response, not even an automated acknowledgement (a tracking number would be nice). It's possible that I mistyped my email address on the... more »

Question on RDWInputRecordStream
|
| |
This is supposed to read z/OS variable length records. I have some questions: 1) Does it work with VBS (Spanned) records? I want to read SMF data. Most of the time we convert our SMF from VBS to VB, so this is not a biggie. 2) Are the first four bytes of the byte[] array the LLBB field? This is important. I used the JZOS RecordClassGenerator to create the .java... more »

IDCAMS REPRO/ENQ question
|
| |
We have a number of jobs that have many steps. One of those steps is an IDCAMS reproing a number of datasets. Fairly frequently (at least 151 times according to the problem tracking system, starting in March this year (running z/OS 1.18 then, z/OS 1.10 now)) the job gets REPRO OUTDATASET(xxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx) -... more »
