Regarding the quest for job titles that led me to post asking people to
share names used in their districts and schools...how important is a title
anyway? When I first started delving into this issue, I thought maybe that
a job title was not all that important. But now I think it IS important? Do
you agree? I would like to hear from folks with an opinion on this
question, either yes or no. Then I will stop asking about this and compile
the information. Whatever you call yourselves, or get called, thanks for
your time and responses! Cheers, mabell

I have written some about this.
See:
http://www.patricklowenthal.com/publications/LabelsDoMatter--CritiqueAECTsRedefinitionOfTheField.pdf
In this paper we talked about language and identity and all these things
related to
how we label what it is we do.

I also did a separate study on what instructional designers need to know
which
investigated to some degree job titles:
http://www.slideshare.net/plowenthal/aect-2010-an-analysis-of-what-instructional-designers-need-to-know

Not sure if these are helpful or not

Patrick

p.s., I work at Boise State now. I need to change the email I have tied to
this list.
