Slight correction - FCC

I said "regulations." I should have said "proposed regulations." Confession:

Also I already received a question from an elementary teacher about keeping
records and what needs to be taught. Here is my response:
You do not need to keep records. In the prior regulations, that they have
inserted this new language into it stated: ³Because we concur that these
data collection and reporting requirements fall outside the requirements of
CIPA, we decline to impose such requirements on recipients. As we have
stated previously, we are confident that local authorities will take the
appropriate steps to ensure that they have complied with CIPA's
requirements.²
The decision of what you need to teach is up to the district. It should be
noted that elementary students are not allowed on the popular social
networking sites. And they are hopefully not using chat rooms where people
over 13 are present. I would advise that elementary schools view the kids
sites, such as Club Penguin and Web Kinz, as elementary level social
networking sites and teach such things as how to respond if anyone sends a
nasty message, not to send nasty messages, and what kind of information they
should not post. Also I think it is important to have students read the
terms of use for these sites and learn how to file a complaint.
And they will not be able to do this if the teachers can¹t bypass the filter
to take them to the sites to read the terms of use policies and look at the
complaint process! We can¹t teach children to swim if we do not allow
swimming pools at school.
