Good Morning:
Does anyone have any recommendations for software that will allow
parents to register for parent teacher conference?

Brian,
Here is a link to a blog post I wrote about how we have parents schedule
their own conference using a wiki.

Hi Brian,
We looked at several and the one we used was www.pickatime.com. It works
well and we never had to call tech support once. A small fee but worth the
cost as the parents did all their own booking online.

We use PTCWizard at Sheridan - simple, low cost and well recieved by parents.

OPTIS is an online solution that I have looked into. It is only $10 per
teacher. The issues you might have include: (1) its too expensive (2)
parents do not have online access. The second issue can be solved by having
parents send in a hardcopy request and having a secretary go online to get
the best possible schedule for the parent.
In my school, it was decided to use plain old excel. In the beginning it was
a nightmare for the secretary who does it, but she got the hang of it and
does a great job. My district felt the cost was too expensive, since the
labor of the secretary was already 'paid for'.

Our school used a wiki this year.

It's free and allows the parents to sign on (under one account that we
created) and choose times themselves. We simply created a page for each
teacher with time slots for them to fill in.

We have been using Pick-A-Time online conference scheduling and we love it.
