There are no books on EDTN. There are no books which say anything about
EDTN. I’ve tried extremely hard to find info on EDTN. I visited many
libraries and bookstores. No luck. That is why I am asking my questions
on Usenet.
There are 3 telecom standards for textphones -- Baudot, CCITT and EDTN.
CCITT = Comité Consultatif International Téléphonique et Télégraphique
CCITT is now known as ITU [International Telecommunication Union]
What does ETDN stand for?
From what I was told in
http://groups.google.com/group/rec.audio.tech/msg/fe2558b1edeb31c8?hl=en&utoken=4AIZYi4AAAAI2PeJr_MMmQkfz_j8PKAEARYt3Jalo6NNUi8Jt6wYH6Ba_Ois7NjCgNKwU1jjERM
, it stands for "European Deaf Telephone Network." This information
could very well be wrong, given that the poster seems to have a personal
vendetta against me. Given that he/she hates me it’s highly likely that
he/she purposely gave me the wrong answer just to shut me up.
I googled "European Deaf Telephone Network" in
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22European+Deaf+Telephone+Network%22&btnG=Google+Search
but only came up with 6 searches containing my previous posts. This is
extremely frustrating!!!! I can't believe I am the only one who is
interested in EDTN! This search did not bring up any sites describing
what EDTN stands for, how EDTN works, or any EDTN phone numbers. This is
why I am so furious now.
EDTN, when relating to textphones most likely does not stand for
"Electronics Design Technology Network", "Electronics Design, Technology
and News Network", "Electronic Ticket Delivery/Distribution Network", or
"European Travel Discount Network"
I did google searches to find this out and got EXTREMELY frustrated
because I STILL could not find what EDTN means in relation to textphones
or telephones. Most of the definitions I got were totally un-related to
textphone/telephone technology!!!!
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Electronics+Design+Technology+Network%22+CCITT&btnG=Search
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22European+Travel+Discount+Network%22+CCITT&btnG=Search
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22European+Travel+Discount+Network%22+Baudot&btnG=Search
All of the above searches turned up my previous posts. The last two
turned up additional websites, one of them not in English, and neither
contained the words "CCITT" or "Baudot".

How does EDTN work?
Where can I find EDTN telephone numbers?
Will someone please give me some EDTN numbers so I can dial them and
listen to the pleasing tones?
