First off I'd like to send warm greetings to my fellow Basque.  I live in
Miami, Florida, USA and I've great interest in discovering more about my
original geneology.  Finding other Basque on the net has been a goldmine
for me.

My name is Alberto Alexander Iturrey.  My last name was originally
Yturrain or Iturrain.  It was changed by my great grandfather when he
moved to Cuba at the end of the last century.  His name was Jose Maria and
I believe that he was originally from San Sebastian or Santander.  I haven't
been able to determine why the last name was changed, nor its original spelling.

I've noticed on an online Basque alphabet that the letter "Y" is
non-existant.  Is this true, if so then my current last name is not
completely Basque.  I've found that "iturri" means fountain, but I have no
way of determining if that is my original last name.

My family and myself would appreciate any information relating to members
of the Iturrey, Yturrain, or Iturrain family living in the Basque country
or abroad.  Since I'm also not sure what my original last name was any
Basque names sounding or spelled similar to the above three would also help.

Thank you.

Alberto Alesander Iturrey
