Anders,
No they didn't go into this antibody any further than this. I find it hard to
believe that they would have this kind of informaton and tell no one else
about this. Yes, it very much interests me, does anyone else know anything
else about this??/

Listmates,
I've got an interesting note from yet another book titled The Omega-3
Phenomenon written by Donald Rudin MD and Clara Felix. There is a chapter on
autism, here is one of the paragraphs in this chapter that pertains to
autism.
"In 1985, scientists at Stanford University discovered evidence placing
autism in a category of ailments connected with an immune system abnormality.
Researchers noted the presence of an unusual antibody circulating in the
blood and spinal fluid of autistic children. This antibody attacks certain
message receptors and interrupts normal nerve transmission in the brain."
"Could the rise of autism be related to malnutrition? A 1978 double
blind study showed that autistic children improved when provided with vitamin
b-6 and magnesium supplements, both pivotal nutrients for processing dietarty
EFA and converting them into prostaglandins. Could omega-3 EFA in our diets
be an important addition to brain functioning and the immune system? I think
so"

Food For THought?

I think I read too much!!!
