Once again the Right-On Rev pegs it: The River Was Flooding in
The Town actually *does* dissolve into Sprechstimme||| The man
is a sub-Genius|

However, it does start out with a pretty nice melodic fragment
and rythym (for a 3.5 yr old|), which I will attempt to notate.
- equals eighth, | is quarter, b halves, o wholes. Dots are
dots. I'll use solfage under the lyric. Cantate con Brio|

| - - | - - - - o.
The river was flooding in the town
Sol do do do Ti Ti Ti Ti La

| o - - - - o.
It was flooding in the town
La re do do do do Ti

- - | | | | o.
It went up and down the stairs (notice the word-painting? )
Sol Sol do do mi do La (at 3.5 yrs? Gadzooks|)
| | | | | o.
and then it went away...
fa mi re do Ti La... the remaining lyics are spechstimme-ed
following the descending line of "and then it went away" with the
final "they were all dead" sung very darkly, the voice breaking.

I wish I understood why you wanted to go home, though.... Is
this too depressing for a kid to have written or wha??? I'm not
even sure if you like it. But, I'm flattered that you want to
set it. A favor? Use the opening melody at least once? It'd
mean a lot to me. After that, mutate away|||

Marc: "the perfect .sig"? How come? I mean, I *wrote* it,
but I don't get it.... But, again, I'm flattered.
