I was reading THIS article and it makes some good points. They recommend you use scroogle. I noticed there's also a scroogle firefox add-in, so you can make it the default search in firefox. Basicly it just prevents google from tracking that you are searching for this or that. All google knows is that the scroogle server is doing a search. Scroogle parses the search and sends the results to you, through ssl.

www.scroogle.com gives an unexpected result!!! (or perhaps I should
have expected this)
