This coming Saturday, 17th September, is Software Freedom Day
http://softwarefreedomday.org/

There are a bunch of events organised around the world to get the
message out to the wider public about Free and Open Source Software.

I am going to the event in Rugby organised by RugLUG:
http://rugby.lug.org.uk/

There will be a range of expertise on hand to talk about Free and Open
Source Software, with machines set up to demonstrate various popular
examples, and there will be a chance to pick up free CD's of Free and
Open Source Software.

It will be running from 12pm - 4pm at the Benn Partnership Centre
(Railway Terrace, Rugby, CV21 3HR)

Hope to see folks there.

Note that this webpage:
http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2011/UK/Rugby/Rugby%20Linux%20Users%20Group
says "with visitors from local schools in the area invited to attend
from 11:00 onwards", so they would probably appreciate helpers from
10:30am onwards.

I am likely to go along. If anyone going has some fizzPOP publicity
material it would be an opportunity to raise awareness of the fizzPOP
side of s/w freedom.

Keith.
