For those who didn't make it to the AGM, HI I AM GARETH, my big thing
is getting our own space. I and two others, who will hopefully
introduce themselves soon, have joined Sarah and Leroy to help take
fizzPOP further.
One of the big things to come out of the AGM was that people wanted to
pay a monthly membership. This allows the group to start building up
some funds toward a space. It allows us to budget for stuff to happen
every month and we need to be able to cover costs before the first
meeting of the month if we are to have any chance saving.
If you want to see more and bigger events we need to build a
cashflow.
It was decided that Standing Orders would be best as there is no
charge for fizzPOP to receive and it is relatively easy for everyone
to set-up with their bank.
You need 6 bits of information for a Standing Order:
1. Receiving account number "16019968"
2. Receiving sort code "30-93-66"
3. Payee name "fizzPOP"
4. Reference "****YOURNAME****" - allows us to track who is a monthly
member
5. Frequency "Monthly"
6. Amount - At the AGM we decided to follow the Nottinghack model of
not setting a minimum amount but asking for what you want to pay a
month. We need it to be a regular payment because that allows us to
budget.
Monthly membership allows you to attend all the regular meetings for
free. One off events are going to be taken on a case by case basis. If
you’re not willing to pay a monthly membership yet, why? Give us some
reasons AND targets. I understand that at the moment a monthly
membership is a risk as we may not yet do anything that appeals to you
yet but give us a target and we will do it if we can.
P.S. Might be worth sending an email to any of the organising team
with your handle/nickname and your real name once you have set up your
standing order.
