Multiplexing LEDs seemed to be a very popular "advanced" topic.
I wondered if any folks would like to come along to a session, and I
will help folks work through the techniques.
I've quite a nice way to wire up individual LEDs to make it a bit
quicker.
I have a bunch of test programs to help ensure things are wired
correctly, and to draw simple animations.
I also have some bi-colour (red/green) 8x8 LED matrix displays, and
some 'drivers' to make them nice and bright.
I can sell the parts at close to cost, or you can bring your own.

For anyone that wasn't at dev8d, GB's workshops were really good, you
can read about it all here http://dev8d.jiscinvolve.org/2010/02/26/workshop-arduino-happiness/

I would like to attend if I can make it.

I have started to define a workshop for controlling LEDs; "Arduino
Blinky Light Extravaganza, from Blink to Bling" :-)
Several people spoke to me on Sunday, and said they'd like it at the
weekend because weekday evenings are awkward.
Is there any preference for weekend vs Wednesday?
I could do two, but I'd like to do some other things like 'Build an
Arduino Robot in a Day' too.
BTW - The 'multiplexing' technique used to control *LOTS* of LEDs is a
similar approach if you want to make something with *LOTS* of switches
too.
I thought we could have two costs, one if you bring your own Arduino
and we supply all the parts, and the other if you need the parts and
an Arduino too. What do folks think?

I can imagine that a weekend might draw more people.
The two costs idea sounds like a good one, should encourage both
returning attendees and new ones.
I would be interested in attending/helping out as long as I am free
when it happens.
Build an Arduino Robot in a Day sounds like a lot of fun :-)
