Subject: [Birding-Aus] RFI: Mainland locations for Sooty Oystercatchers in North Queensland.
I have a great desire, verging on compulsion, to take some photos of Sooty
Oystercatchers in North Queensland. The background to this is my curiosity about the sub-species status (for want of a better description) of Sooty Oystercatchers around Australia. The current wisdom suggests (perhaps that should be "claims") that the geographical 'division' between the two races in Queensland occurs around the Tropic of Capricorn. I have some doubts based on my personal photographic evidence, so...........I would like to photograph some Sooty Oycs north of Rockhampton (Emu Park to be more precise). Actually, I would like to get some photos of Sootys from near Mackay or, preferably, Bowen. What I am asking is: Are there any reasonably accessible locations between Rockhampton and Bowen Cheers Bob Inglis =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, You must Sign in before you can post messages.
