Birdline Tasmania

Published sightings for the week ending 25 Mar 2012.

Thu 22 Mar Masked Owl (probable) Hobart Intercity Cycleway
A friend of mine asked me about a bird she spotted riding North at around 9:30 pm. The following descriptions were given: * Owl, ~30 cm, brown, defined face mask, raggedy wing tips. * mask was well-defined, pale and with a widows peak in the space above the eyes. * On the bike track, near some trees, past the bridge. A search of the area and domain might be fruitful!

Birdline Tasmania

Published sightings for the week ending 1 Apr 2012.

Wed 28 Mar Grey Goshawk (White Morph.) East Minstone Road, Scottsdale, Tasmania
We were coming home from school, and driving up the road was a massive all white bird with orange feet feeding on a dead kangaroo. It flew up into the closest tree as we approached. We stopped the car, and had another look at it. It then flew away into the closest tree.
