Sequencing through high GC content repeat region
I have just completed deep sequencing of a herpes virus but have some areas with gaps. This is in the repeat regions. Because the GC-content of the whole genome is about 73%, sequencing is quite difficult. Has anyone found a way to 'easily' sequence through these regions?? -- View this message in context: [link]... more »

Use of Value of TCID50 result
I have measured TCID50 value of virus: 1.6X10^4/ml. Now how do I use the value in the real infection assay? If the infection fianl volume is 100 microliter, for 1 TCID50 (of above value) or 100 TCID50 (of the same virus stock) what volume we need to infect? Does the cell number in 100 microliter is a concern or not? If any body can discuss.... more »
