axolotls?
I found a webpage you posted, saying that you had some extra axolotls? I previously had some, and sold them foolishly, and wanted more ever since. I'm in Canada, so that is no issue.

Anesthetics and Analgesics for Axolotls
Axolotls (and other salamanders) do not appear to need a post- amputation analgesic (other than, perhaps, keeping them cold for a while). My assay is feeding: they usually commence feeding, as if nothing happened, as soon as they recover from the anesthetic. I don't think that would happen if they were in severe post-amputation... more »

Fw: Axolotls available in Canada
Sorry I made an error, I just relooked at my axolotyls and it's a female. ----- Original Message ----- ...To: urode...@iubio.bio.indiana.edu Sent: Tuesday, January 26, 2010 12:15 PM ...I am a newer pet owner of a grey and black spotted axolotls (male) approx. 7 inches to date, I have a set him up in a 30 gal tank half filled with water and a fairly natural environment; slab and large pebble rocks and live plants at the surface, water pump outflow trickling down layered rocks as a slow waterfall. I keep the temperature around 68 degrees and the PH around 6.5. I am interested in breeding him and was wondering if any of the axolotis that you have would be apporopriate. Also I was wanting some advise on feeding. I currently feed him 1 frozen square of tubifex in the am and then 3 shrimp pellets in the evening. I am wondering if this is enough of a nutritional diet for him and also whether how the quantity should increase as his size increases.... more »

Anesthetics and Analgesics for Axolotls
Hello Natalie, Please, can I have the summary of responses to these questions: 1) Do axolotls need a post leg amputation analgesic? If not why not? If they do, what sort is appropriate? For how long into the regeneration period do they require painkillers? 2) Is there another anesthetic other than MS222 appropriate for... more »
