Arab-gen Digest, Vol 97, Issue 10- Promote flowering
I think you can try using GA to promote flowering. GA pathway is a major pathway of floral transition. I usually spray the plants with 100uM GA3 once per week, beginning from the seedling stage. Hope it may help, Jiannan ...

A postdoctoral position in photosynthesis and amino acid metabolism in Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI, USA
A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Yan Lu’s lab at Western Michigan University (WMU) to study the connections between photosynthesis and amino acid metabolism. Carbon metabolism and production of amino acids in plants are important for plant fitness and food, fiber and fuel for humans and animals. The overall goal of the project is to understand the interactions between photosynthesis and amino acid metabolism. This project will computationally integrate photosynthetic parameters, amino acid profiles, and carbon-to-nitrogen ratio of Arabidopsis mutants to identify novel genes in these biological processes. Click here for more information: [link]. This postdoc will conduct focused studies on specific genes/proteins/mutants identified from the phenotypic correlation analysis. The candidate will work in the Lu laboratory at WMU as part of a collaborative research team at WMU (Dr. Lu’s group) and Michigan State University (Rob Last’s group). WMU is a public research institution with ~20,000 undergraduates and ~5,000 graduates. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biology-related fields at the time of employment. Experience in photosynthesis, plant metabolism, and molecular biology is highly desirable. Funding is available for three years. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.... more »

Best ways to promote flowering of extremely late-flowering ecotypes
Dear Colleagues, We recently ordered a few ecotypes originated from Ukraine that are apparently extremely late flowering. The plants have been in a growth chamber with 16/8 h photoperiod for more than five months with 2 weeks in a cold room at their rosette stage and there is no sign that they are going to flower soon. I know there are many people out there working on flowering and there must be people who know the best ways to make these extremely late-flowering ecotypes flower early and I would greatly appreciate it if people can share with me their advices. We want to use these ecotypes for genetic crossing and really hate it if we have to spend years to get the F2 progeny.... more »
