I have some undergraduates who would like to demonstrate transformation in Chlamy using gfp as the reporter. This would have to be a simple procedure as they will do it as part of a class. I have never transformed Chlamy, so I am wondering if there is a plasmid containing a constitutive gfp gene that can be introduced into Chlamy fairly easily.
