Hi Andrew,

We have released new website for siRNA and gex assays. We would like to inform you the new links to replace current url from BioGPS.  I am wondering if the links can use gene symbol and species instead of Entrez gene id.

Thanks!

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the email. A few thoughts here...

- First, it looks like I am the owner of the ABI/Life plugins. I'm
happy to turn ownership over to you or someone at Life Tech to make
all the necessary changes (if there's someone there who's willing and
able)

- Second, you can use gene symbol in the URL template, but not
species. (There are too many different ways people specify
species...) Plus, since symbols periodically change, using stable
identifiers is much much better...

- Third, if you want us to continue to maintain the plugin, just send
us a few example URLs for the pages you want to show up in the
plugin...

Cheers,
-andrew
