So as I understand I need the Bio4j jar files to use the JAVA API for Bio4j. However, if I use the ones one github (Bio4j.jar and Bio4j-jar-with-dependencies.jar) and import them into eclipse they are missing their source file. However, I do not believe this is simply the src folder? Where is this src file that I can attach to these jars. In addition, when I import the bio4j db with the snapshot, I do not see the jar files anywhere. I just see bio4jdb, lost+found, and READE-ME.txt. And I am still confused how to interact with the DB on my aws instance. Does the instance have and IDE that I can use to write and compile code? Because I can't seem to understand how to get that to work. Thanks!

So instead of running it on an aws I'm currently importing the database and constructing it (taking a really long time haha). So I downloaded Bio4j folder from github and linked the two jar files to an Eclipse project. However, it says that the source is not there. Where can I probably get the jar files/find the sources?

Thanks!

Hi Ayush,

In order to interact with Bio4j DB through the Java API you just need to include Bio4j-0.8-jar-with-dependencies.jar as a dependency for your Java project. This is independent of whether you're using the AWS Snapshot or importing your own database.
Regarding the source files just go to the project repository: https://github.com/bio4j/Bio4j and download the last version of the master branch.

HTH

Cheers,

Pablo
