Ellen Fletcher was profiled in this morning's "31 Days" feature of great cyclists at the League of American Bicyclists.  Anybody and everybody involved in bike advocacy in the Bay Area should read this short biography:

I knew Ms Fletcher was fighting cancer again but didn't know it was considered terminal. We all owe her a great debt of gratitude.

Thanks Richard for letting us know about this. We all owe Ellen greatly for her years of hard work and inspiration. When I used to pick up the Spinning Cranks at her house she showed my kids some of her bike articles and I was very proud my kids got to meet her and learn from her. She was the bike lady to my then much younger kids and I always appreciated the kindness she showed toward.
