WHAT: WalkBikeNC (http://www.walkbikenc.com/) Charlotte area focus group meeting/Charlotte Regional Walk-Bike Mini-Summit. Please come prepared to give a brief (2 min.) report on walk/bike initiatives you or your agency, group is working on.
WHY: To hear about the WalkBikeNC Plan from Lauren Blackburn, Director of the NCDOT Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation, provide comments and questions and get inspiration for implementation opportunities and partnerships in the Charlotte Region. Also, to hear about other walk/bike initiatives in the greater Charlotte region and network with the folks that are making them happen.
WHEN: Friday, May 3, 9:30-noon.
WHERE: Charlotte Mecklenburg Gov’t Center, Room 267
WHO: Advocates, municipal staff, elected officials, staff of walk/bike related organizations, business orgs and others in the walk/bike field in this region or an interest in same. (While the WalkBikeNC effort is NCDOT-sponsored and focused on North Carolina, it would be great to have our friends in the South Carolina portion of metro Charlotte in attendance as well.)
