We have an offer to host a Bike4Peace web page. Please let me know what you think belongs on there. I'm thinking rider bios would be appropriate, so please send a photo of yourself with your condensed story.

As far as I'm concerned, Vernon, that's a big YES!  I guess I'll be the decider if some nazi group wants to join.  If there's a loud outcry, I'll deal with it.

Bike4Peace is now the first on my list.  Think about how you would like your page to look.  About, links, contact info, updates, photos, etc.

Thanks, Vernon.

Will Bike4Peace fit, Courtney? We have stories and lessons from rides in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2010, plus an ongoing discussion group and a firm connection to Cindy Sheehan's ride this year.

Hi everyone,

I just realized that I had spaced on building our website.  I'm ready to get to it now.

I'm thinking to present us as we are: a sort of coalition of activists and organizations dedicated to peace.  There would be a main menu item of "organizations" or "member groups".  So this is a call to groups.

I picture a page for each group (Veterans for Peace, Fellowship of Reconciliation, Witness for Peace, Friends of Middle East Peace, Courthouse Vigil, etc.)  I would set it up so a representative from each group would be responsible for maintaining that page, keeping it up to date with projects, events, mission.  I would train that representative.  Or it would be fine to have a static page, just saying who you are and what you do, and not update it.

Visitors to the site would see that we are actually very active in the community.  We could also have a calendar, to which all groups could post their meetings and events.  I would need someone to be responsible for monitoring the calendar.

These are all just big ideas at this point.  I might be getting myself in over my head.  And we just might be able to pull it off!  Linda Richards and Bill Glassmire have offered to help me maintain the site.

I'm not able to buy Alt2War.org.  But I could get CorvallisAlt2War.org.  I will do that within a week if I hear no objections.  Annual cost should be under $100.

Courtney
