Saturday's Ride

Bill lead some die hard cyclists and one, not so sure, from Java Jack's this morning in a hard mist with a chill.  I rode as far as Mound Street and thought to myself, "Oh Heck No!" and quickly returned to Java Jack's for their Second Saturday Brunch of french toast,  coffee, fruit and a newspaper.
I hope everyone had a good ride and the french toast was excellent!

Bill lead 12 riders on the "Martinsville Tour" and it was great to have Zach join us from College Station and to see Jerry again.  Brian's friend, Sam from Austin rode with us and we took Jack Hand Road to FM 1878 to FM95 and stopping to rest under the shade of the big pecan tree in the school parking lot.  Doug was kind enough to show us where we could refill our water bottles with tepid water as he made his way to the open baseball concession stand, for some ice cold Gatorade.  We rode 40 miles in just under three hours and we got a taste of what this summer has installed for us.
I hope to see everyone next Saturday and don't forget the Tuesday and Thursday night rides.  The Bike Shop also has Tuesday and Thursday rides and they begin in the morning from their shop at 8:00am.

Hey All:

We missed y'all on ur Saturday ride- sounds great.

Mark Z, Connor, Kaylee & I went to Tyler / Whitehouse to pre-ride the course for the Tyler Road Race - which happens June 2nd.

We rode a fast training ride of 39 miles, in the afternoon, the temp said 99 degrees. 

We got a late start, not a great idea, if avoiding heat is a goal!

I'll be in and out for the next six months or so, but will be back full-time in December.
