pros of using BigCouch for replication based high-availability?

We have a cluster of 5 servers which are replica of each other. We can install couchdb on each server with bi-directional replication between them (with any mesh model we want) SIMPLE and WORKING! yea?

Now, since I knew about BigCouch, I want to know whats the advantages of using BigCouch in our case? And since I know of some bugs, non stability issues of BigCouch why should we use it over single couchdb replication?
