Other issue with "Chat input text field"

In first time, thank you very much to all BBB Team for this new
release!!!

Its true that the input text field appear in the chat box (something
that did not appear in my MacOs and it worked very fine in my windows
and ubuntu systems).

But when i write in the chat input text field, the text doesn´t appear
in the top of the chat, just below the introductory text (See the
attachment image)

Hi Alenjandro,

Hmm ... you gave two images, and the second image doesn't show the text field.  This is the bug we (believe) we thought we had fixed.  Can you confirm that you are *not* seeing

As for the first chat message, if you type a few chat messages into the text field, then rejoin from another browser tab, does the chat discussion look more normal to you?

Hi Fred,

You have the reason about the second image, it doesn´t appear the chat
input field, but now i have tried other time and its appear this:

The chat input text field works fine, but the text appear much more
below the introductory text. Thats the true problem!!

Hi Fred,

It seems very erratic... the gap between the intro text and the chat text will widen one moment, the scroll bar will appear, then when another chat entry is made, the gap will narrow again and the scroll bar disappears again, and so on, rather than having a smooth scrolling of text as it's entered like you'd expect in Skype or the like.

Hi Fred, i have been doing some tests, and the final result is this issue happens only in Mac (not in Ubuntun neither Windows) and when the lan of the client is fiber optic (the company in Spains that provided this fiber optic service is called ONO), this doesn´t happen in an ADSL LAN. Its very curiously, but its so. Try it!! I dont know that features in this router could be the responsable of this issue.

Hi Fred, i imagine that you have seen that your new youtube video called "Editing Bigbluebutton session with popcorn maker", in the fisrt, it has the same issue with the chat, that´s all, thanks!!!

As i said, i think the problem could be in the lan of the client, but i don´t know sincerely!!!

Hi Alejandro,

Yes, I made the video :-).

Currently, the chat in BigBlueButton attempts to keep the last message visible.  If you've scrolled to the top and a new chat message comes in, the chat window attempts to scroll back down to the bottom.

The problem is it only partially works.   We're going to try and fix this as part of BigBlueButton 0.81.  See
