Use and integration of BBB with SMF forum

Dear supporters and friends of BBB,

first of all, I am kind of newbie in all internet issues. Second, thanks for making such a wonderful teaching tool available for many.

I try to administrate a forum based on SMF-forum (2.0.4) software and would like to know if it is possible to integrate this conversation software as a kind of block.
Am am also not able to figure out if it is basically possible to use this software in our given environment. Maybe you have some hint how I could figure that out.
Hopefully I do not brother you with my naive question.
