Canvas-BBB integration error: Error joining conference

Hi

       We have independent installations of Instructure Canvas and BigBlueButton setup in respective servers (Ubuntu 12.04 and Ubuntu 10.04 in Amazon EC2 respectively)

We are unable to create conferences using the Canvas BBB plugin. Canvas displays a "There was an error joining the conference" error (as below) (despite setting up the plugin with the correct URL and salt).

The following are from the Canvas error log.

We checked the BBB log file (/var/log/bigbluebutton/bbb-web.log) but nothing here corresponding to the conference requests. Perhaps the requests aren't reaching the BBB server.

We could however start conferences successfully using Moodle connecting to the same BBB server in context. Could you please let us know what you think ?

I don't think the Canvas integration that you're using is officially supported. It's possible that the one you're using hasn't been updated in a while to match the new api format.

Look in /var/log/nginx and see if you can see the create command actually being sent to BBB server.
