Width of NAME column after changing the font size

If the participant can't read the default tiny font and thus changes
the font size, it become impossible to know who is making a posting.
Suppose three participants: Mary Wendy, Marianna Monaco, Marilyn
Anderson. With a larger font size selected each name is posted as:
Mar...

leaving no quick/obvious identification.

How can this be fixed?

In 0.81 the chat message author's name is placed above the chat message. This should help with this issue because there will be more space to fit a person's name.

Given that we are using BBB via Instructure's Canvas, is this
something we can control?

I'm not sure how they are using BBB in their service, but I don't think it will be configurable. If you go to dev081.bigbluebutton.org you can see how the chat messages will look in the new version.
