Video button intermittent

The video share button only shows up intermittently.  When it shows up, the video stream is excellent, but it only shows up every couple times when I log in.
 
The config looks correct (and like I said, it does work occasionally)

Don't you have the presenterShareOnly enabled on config.xml?

If so, you will only be able to share your video when you are the presenter.

I do have it set, and I am testing as moderator.  I have found though that if I change presenter to someone else, and then back to myself, I seem to get the button back most of the time.

Which version of BigBlueButton are you testing? Could you provide the steps to reproduce it?

Testing with IE, Chrome, and Firefox
 
Log into session as moderator.  Have desktop share button, but no video share button,
 
Transfer presenter to someone else, and than take it back.  Button appears.
 
Wether or not it shows up on initial login is completely random, but I would say 1 in 10 times on average, regardless of PC or browser.

It can't actually be tested against the dev081.bigbluebutton.org server easily because you have to make a change to config.xml to only allow the presenter to share their webcam.

Your right ... however, if we modify our API example for dynamic.conf


to also enable presenterShareOnly option, then Jeff could test using the above example.   We'll make this update later today.

Seems to be a race condition on when the button appears and when the "first moderator" becomes presenter. There is a logic after login that
says "if I am the first moderator, make me presenter", if that happens after the call to display the video button, then the check if the user is
presenter will fail thus it won't appear.

Can you please create an issue so we can track?
