Installation Error ruby gem gherkin

Hi,

I have a problem installing bigbluebutton 0.8 on an ubuntu system. During configuration of of bbb-record-core an error installing gherkin 2.2.9 occurs:

Installing gherkin (2.2.9) with native extensions
Gem::Installer::ExtensionBuildError: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

Gem files will remain installed in /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.2/gems/gherkin-2.2.9 for inspection.
Results logged to /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.2/gems/gherkin-2.2.9/ext/gherkin_lexer_ar/gem_make.out
An error occured while installing gherkin (2.2.9), and Bundler cannot continue.
Make sure that `gem install gherkin -v '2.2.9'` succeeds before bundling.

If I manually try to install gherkin-gem with enabled debugging, first error says: "Exception `NameError' at /usr/lib/ruby/1.9.3/rubygems/command_manager.rb:177 - uninitialized constant Gem::Commands::InstallCommand".
I attached the whole output (gherkin-debug).


I also tried with newer ruby versions, but there's also the same problem.

I don't know how to get rid of these errors, can anybody help me?

Kevin, did you use the install-ruby script in .8 install
instructions, i have had probems before copying this script when
using IE as my broswer, it is malformed when i paste in file. I has
simiair issues running script.

I use chrome ro cut the install script to make sure it pastes
correctly into file.

this might be issue.

Hi Stephen,

yes, I used the ruby install script, I think the ruby installation should be all right. I didn't get an error message installing the other gems.
