I know that the current dev release runs via 10.04.  I have purchased new hardware and trying to install 10.04, various drivers are not found for this hardware.  Ethernet is the main one.

However on 12.04 it is supported, so dumb question, could .081dev be installed under 12.04.

Thank You

You can install backported kernels on 10.04.

bbb1:~$ apt-cache search linux-image-generic-lts
linux-image-generic-lts-backport-maverick - Generic Linux kernel image
linux-image-generic-lts-backport-natty - Generic Linux kernel image
linux-image-generic-lts-backport-oneiric - Generic Linux kernel image

I don't see one for precise, but I am sure it can be done.

me too. I am trying to make bbb working on Ubuntu 12.04 and 13.04. I just finished install ruby and gem install hello success.
All bbb development tools are working on 12.04 and 13.04
All the jobs are to modify bbb scripts to compile on 12.04 and 13.04.

0.81dev can never installed on 12.04 and 13.04 unless you modify its code.
I tried and failed.

If you are interested in modify its code, I can join you.
