To upgrade your existing BigBlueButton 0.8-beta server, do the following:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
When you type `sudo apt-get dist-upgrade` the packaging scripts should
update for you the following components
bbb-apps bbb-client bbb-common bbb-config bbb-demo
bbb-playback-slides bbb-record-core bbb-web red5
At some point in the upgrade process, you'll be prompted to update the
configuration file /etc/nginx/sites-available/bigbluebutton.
Configuration file `/etc/nginx/sites-available/bigbluebutton'
==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.
==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ? Your options are:
Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
N or O : keep your currently-installed version
D : show the differences between the versions
Z : background this process to examine the situation
The default action is to keep your current version.
*** bigbluebutton (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ?
Type 'Y' and press Enter. After the install finishes, restart your
BigBlueButton server with
sudo bbb-conf --clean
sudo bbb-conf --check
To check that you are running 0.8-beta-2, launch BigBlueButton and
check that in the lower left-hand corner of the client you see 'Build
3807-2011-10-07' (or later).
Please test BigBlueButton 0.8-beta-2 and let us know if you find *any* problems.
Looking ahead, we're working our way through the remaining issues with
an increasing focus on profiling and stability. There will be a
0.8-beta-3 and it will also include a downloadable VM for wider
testing.
