Hi guys!

We are glad to announce the first public release of the BigBlueButton for Android. It's available for download on http://code.google.com/p/mconf/, some pics are available here. This is the version 0.2 (beta), which includes full chat and voice conference functionalities. If you are interested in this project, visit our wiki for more information about how this application works, about the subprojects involved and the ways you can contribute. Our BigBlueButton development server are available for test purposes here.

Any feedback will be appreciated! :)
Thank you all for the great support.

Best regards,

Felipe Cecagno

Hi again!

We discovered a problem in the published .apk and removed it from Google Code. For now, it's only available on GitHub. As soon as we figured out this problem, we will publish a new .apk for direct download.

Regards,

Felipe

Yes, it would be great to have a 'speaker' feature, so that the user doesn't have to hold up the phone to listen. Otherwise I really like the Push to Talk feature. We have a prototype for bbb-client that works in a similar way. It's the ClassroomAudioModule in bbb-client (currently disabled by default)

There is a speaker feature!

Join the voice conference, press menu and select "speaker".
It works fine since there is a "push to talk" to avoid echo.
