Good evening,

Earlier today we attempted to host a webinar using BBB, but the audio
quality was too bad to switch from Skype.

Can I get Skype (or near Skype) quality audio+broadcasting with BBB?

Thanks for all suggestions,

Alec Taylor

Alex,

Try demo.bigbluebutton.org to see the audio improvements in .8, using
speex and eliminating a lot of delay you hear in .71a. The core
developers did a great job on this..

You wont find the best audio, video or best deskshare in BBB at this
point but the project YET, it is early.

However you will find the best integrated suite of tools for real
teaching of mulitiple (< 25) students that is documented and
supported.

If its just 1 or 2 people socially chatting in full duplex mode stick
with skype.

Also, if your running behind a firewall port forwarding to a VM
instance, a dedicated server sitting on the edge will give you much
better results when the system is put into production.

You can also connect SIP clients, and SYKPE channels direct to your
server to connect directly to the freeswich server.

Stephen

Thanks, we will try .8 in the next webinar.

Best of luck with this project,
